Are you interested in learning how the latest state-of-the-art technology can help you get a greater yield per tree while significantly reducing costs?
Want to be able to map your yields, gain a deeper understanding of your tree health, or detect pest & disease at early stage?
Or find out why an area in your orchard is under-performing?
A highly qualified agronomist with an extensive background in tree crop research, MacAvo’s Chris Searle is passionate about combining the latest cutting-edge science with up-to-the-minute technology to help solve your everyday orchard management issues.
Chris understands the chemistry and biology behind your trees and can help you measure and understand the metrics driving production in your orchard.
He will show you the technological tools to plant your orchard using GPS mapping, schedule your irrigation and accurately measure key variables in your orchard in real time (like tree water use and stress) which will give you the ability to minimise issues and maximise productivity.
Chris can provide advice on a range of technologies including:
- advanced GPS mapping, planting orchard operations
- tree shakers
- sap flow sensors and psychrometers
- environmental monitoring
- LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) – 3D laser mapping
- remote sensing
- irrigation scheduling
- automated tractors
- drones
- yield mapping.
Talk to Chris today to understand how small changes can result in big yield increases.
MacAvo's Dr. Chris Searle is currently playing a key role in the University of QLD’s ‘Multi-scale Monitoring Tools for Managing Australian Tree Crops’ project, which will deliver a farm-level decision support tool using a range of new sensors and imagery to assist growers with yield forecasting and optimisation, early detection of pest and disease outbreaks, support product traceability, and reduce input costs. He is also the lead researcher in developing an international pest & disease App for the macadamia industry.
